Since meeting Joe and Chris I see how much of a passion they have for helping others. The time and effort they put into this really shows. One of the most valuable aspects of this program is its focus on long-term success. They don’t just help you get sober—they equip you with the tools and strategies needed to maintain a healthy, fulfilling life. From relapse prevention techniques to mental health support, they cover everything necessary for lasting recovery. They are definitely people I would put my trust in.

Twelve Mile Recovery’s virtual outpatient program is a game-changer. I wasn’t sure if a virtual program would work for me, but it exceeded all my expectations. The sessions felt personal, and the holistic approach made a real difference—meditation, mindfulness, and even fitness were all included. I’ve never felt so supported on my recovery journey. The team is compassionate and incredibly knowledgeable, and I truly felt like they cared about my success. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for help without having to leave home!

I had the pleasure of meeting Chris and Jo in Mexico, and from the very beginning, I could sense the dedication and warmth they bring to everything they do. Training with Chris was an incredible experience—he’s the kind of person who is not only incredibly knowledgeable but also truly attentive and patient. He has a unique way of listening and offering guidance rooted in his own journey and experience, making him the kind of mentor anyone would be fortunate to have.Jo is equally remarkable. She has this calm and open presence that instantly makes you feel heard and understood. Her own story is so rich and inspiring, and she brings a genuine curiosity and kindness to every interaction. She has that rare gift of making people feel both supported and inspired, which I know will make their retreat center a truly special place.Together, Chris and Jo are a perfect team—always ready to help, listen, and create an environment where people can grow and heal. Their retreat center is sure to be a welcoming, transformative space, thanks to their heartfelt dedication and the warmth they share so generously with others. I couldn’t recommend them more highly.

Chris is an incredible pillar of strength and support in the recovery community. His unwavering dedication to his own recovery journey, combined with his passion for helping others, truly sets him apart. Chris brings not only wisdom and experience but also an empathetic and non-judgmental approach that makes everyone feel heard and supported. He’s always there to offer guidance, share his story, or simply lend a listening ear, no matter the situation.Through his actions, Chris has created a positive ripple effect, inspiring others to stay committed to their own recovery while fostering a strong sense of community. His selflessness and commitment to service are a testament to the kind of person he is—someone who genuinely cares about the well-being of others. The recovery community is stronger and more united because of Chris, and his impact is immeasurable. We are all incredibly fortunate to have him on this journey with us.

My time at CCFA had a very positive impact on my life. The counsellors, nurses and all of the staff were great (special shout outs to Josh, Kamryn, Brenda, Sara and Kristina). We were able to learn about, and practise, a variety of programs for recovery and many valuable tools and strategies. No one program is forced, allowing you to select or take parts from each that work best for you. The food was incredible (thanks Kyle!). A few bumps with the facility itself, but it felt like a safe, fun home, that supported you while you were evolving. I found a tribe I didn’t know I was missing from. The aftercare has been very beneficial. Time and money well spent to get sober, begin recovery, and a journey to a more fulfilling life. If you are committed to changing yourself, I would definitely recommend CCFA.

Ccfa made me feel welcome from the moment I stepped through the doors. I was really nervous going in there especially since I was a bit younger and thought there wouldn’t be too many young people but I was wrong. You step in there and everyone (staff and patients) make you feel as comfortable as you can considering the fact you are going through withdrawals also. Everyday I was at ccfa I started to feel better and better until I actually felt like myself again! The programs at ccfa really work you can choose different activities everyday from smart recovery, refugee recovery, and fellowships such as AA,CA,NA and big book studies (which is what I decided to focus on). I like that the nurses are available 24/7 that made me feel more comfortable especially since people are going through withdrawals and you can see the doctor once a week but honestly the nurses are the real MVPs all of them make you feel heard and they are comforting in your times of needs. Big shout outs to nurse Zhara and Sarah! Thank you guys! The food is absolutely amazing (thank you Kyle). And for the most part all of the councillors are knowledgeable and amazing to help you get to the deeper route causes of your addiction. And put on great sessions everyday for us. Shout out to Denise, Kamryn, Sheila, Josh, Steve, Alex and kat. And the office ladies! Maria and steph. I would recommend ccfa to everyone. It’s a lot of money but trust me it’s worth it I wouldn’t have been able to get sober by myself so if you’re in the same boat and reading this I’d recommend you go. Thank you again ccfa

I completed my 45 Day stay at CCFA and it was truly life changing. I am so grateful for the experience and I am currently 84 days clean. The staff, programming and other residents made a huge impact on my recovery. It was like one big family. CCFA as a whole is the best place I could have had the privilege of going to, without them I would not be here today. The staff is incredible ! They take the time to help you, listen to you and support you in every way along your journey as well as after you leave. I am so grateful for being able to attend CCFA and for the incredible support and care they provided me !

CCFA was a life changing experience, staff were great, very knowledgeable, supportive and kind. The residents and staff made the place feel very comfortable and open. It’s a real fellowship. The clinicals and programs really helped me deal with my issues and also prepare for life afterwards. There are a variety of different activities geared towards recovery like Art therapy, refuge recovery, 12 step (A/A,N/A,C/A) and SMART recovery and weekend activities. The food was also great. To anyone looking to start their path to sobriety I would highly recommend this facility.

Our son was in the CCFA, for a few months. The treatment residence has a homelike atmosphere, located in the pretty town of Cobourg, Ontario on the shores of Lake Ontario. The CCFA provided our son an individualized treatment plan to determine what best fit for his most likely success of being able to attain sobriety, as well as to maintain it post discharge. The CCFA offered many modalities of treatment, ex. Alcoholics Anonymous, Refuge Recovery, and the opportunity to attend meetings related to the person’s drug of choice. Our son was able to choose which recovery treatment worked best for him. As well, the center offers counselling, psychotherapy and and medical care as part of the detox and recovery process. Residents have a choice of adjunct therapies such as yoga, access to the gym in the residence, art therapy, and journaling, as examples. As our son had multiple food allergies, we must mention that he was kept safe with the meals provided, to the point that he gained some much needed weight, just eating healthy. He learned so much there with the programming that the center provides, which involves education with worksheets on all aspects related to addictions, relationships, and communication to name a few, and we feel this education really assisted our son to start to make changes to his well-being during treatment. The residents are on a strict busy schedule which includes daily walks and they are introduced to community A/A meetings and nature around them. They also have chores. There is a family coordinator who works with the family at key points in the treatment period as well as leads, with another counselor, weekly zoom calls for the families of the residents to ask questions about the treatment, addiction, recovery, and anything else we wish to share or discuss related to best be able to assist our loved ones in their recovery and for post discharge from CCFA. These meetings were life saving and a godsend to us, providing resources, education and also to know we are not alone in how we feel and what we have been through with our loved ones. With the resources, treatment provided, and the support of the staff after discharge, also provided to the residents and the families, we feel our son has had a good chance to maintain sobriety. As family members, we have learned that we cannot control our son’s behavior post discharge and he must be accountable for his actions and behavior, but this facility, we believe, has given him the best chance for success as well, as supported and educated us on how best to help him. The CCFA was extremely responsive to our needs or any concerns we had every time we called them!! We feel we made the best choice in choosing the CCFA and are extremely grateful for the care provided to our son and to our family. Thank you to the staff at CCFA.

ive completly finished the program everything was an awesome experience the people were very welcoming, great food and nice chefs. everybody was amazing, drama was very little.. confidentiality can be a issue but just dont share anything you dont want to be known with regular staff, they are worse with drama then the attendants… only share with your primary counsellors and your psychotherapist if you dont want confidentiality breached. visitation every weekend made the weeks go by quick. 4 hours every weekend day access to phones twice daily and a really good place to get sober i would be nowhere where i am right now without ccfa

My experience at CCFA was life changing . I came in a broken, hopeless soul with no direction to life , CCFA gave me life and my light back that i was desperately was searching for .The staff were encouraging, uplifting and always there when you needed advice and an ear to listen.while in there i found the fellowship of AA and Kamryn really helped my find my spiritual self . She is dedicated to every client and encourages you to really focus on your sobriety and inner spiritual self .The programming was well planned, engaging, and we suited to all clients in different stages of their recovery .counseling and counselors helped get to the root causes of my trauma to help me to further healing my self and work toward a life of sobriety. The nurses are knowledge, attentive and really care about your physical and mental well being . I can not say enough about them .The accommodations were great , the rooms were spacious ,clean and had all the amenities you need . There was plenty of activities to do inside and out side the house .THE FOOD!, the food was unreal ,i can not rave enough about the food . it was always fresh , creative and ever changing . The chefs work well with clients with dietary restrictions to provide a meal that every client can enjoy .

I cannot write enough great things about CCFA! The staff, the environment, the people there and the opportunities for personal development, growth and healing were tremendous. The chefs are amazing as well and the counsellors really go out of their way to ensure individuals are well treated, supported and encouraged to thrive. I owe a lot to this place and would highly recommend to anyone ready to change for the better and to become a happier, healthier version of themselves. Thankful is an understatement.

On this date, one year ago, I walked into the doors at the CCFA Cobourg location. I decided to wait until now to post a review, both because I wanted to see how well the tools I gained there would work, but also because I didn’t leave with the greatest of attitudes. I’m glad to say that through hard work, determination to do better, and with those tools I’m happier and healthier than I’ve ever been.I’m going to break my review down into multiple sections.Staff 5/5 – with the exception of one councilor who was willing to completely ignore some pretty serious issues, the staff here is fantastic. I feel that some of the teaching tools (videos, handouts, etc.) could use some upgrading, but working with what they’ve got the majority of the staff are incredibly caring, level-headed, and excellent at teaching.Food 5/5 – Not much to be said here, Red and Kyle absolutely kill it. A level of variety that keeps you from getting bored with the dishes with nearly everything being perfectly cooked.Management **at the time** 3/5 – I’m not willing to be as harsh as I might like to here for a couple of reasons. My biggest complaint with the management at this location was their willingness to allow a steady flow of new customers while people who had already been attending were forced to either have less counseling or have rushed, consecutive sessions. This is a double edged sword, and the exact reason I’m torn on my rating. It was an unfortunate circumstance for those already there, but I’d hate to see someone miss out on treatment. Perhaps an extra councilor or two during peek times? The house – 3/5 overall the layout of the house is basically perfect for its use. The rooms themselves are very basic, with the exception of a couple of the private rooms. The beds are comfortable and nothing feels cramped. If I had one complaint, it would be much the same as other reviewers, the courtyard. At the time it was nearly completely bare and pretty depressing. Being a communal space, it should honestly be the focus and could easily be brought up to par with some sprucing up.Overall, I would be happy to recommend CCFA to anyone looking for help with their addictions. There are certainly some changes that could be made to add value to what is labeled as a luxury centre, but if you put in some hard work and keep an open mind, you’ll leave with what you paid for. I hope to never need this type of service again, but if I ever did, this is where I’d go for sure.

At the time our son entered this treatment centre, we didn’t know what to expect. We were nervous, afraid it wouldn’t work, but desperate . A month seemed a long time, but how could a life style transformation happen in one month. ALL of the staff were so supportive of him and us. Always cheery voices on the phone with words of encouragement . Support groups for families to relate to other families going through the same thing. Although it is still early in his recovery, our son came home with training and guidance on what can happen, knowledge to fight it off and tools to help him work through issues. It’s with profound gratitude that our son was given this gift to get his life back!!The CCFA team have the knowledge, kindness and support to give our loved ones a wonderful opportunity.Do it!!

CCFA saved my life. I had been struggling with alcohol and substance abuse since I was introduced to partying at a young age. My illness of addiction progressed at a fast speed and things had really spiralled out of control for me as of recently to the point I almost lost my life. My family had been suggesting treatment for a while and I finally accepted the situation I was in. I was nervous when I first got there but the staff and my fellow housemates were extremely welcoming and friendly, making the transition that much easier. There were ample amount of programs there that opened my mind into recovery, from art therapy to yoga classes, also a very carefully structured clinical/therapeutic class system that kept us in routine and allowed me to rebuild healthy habits. I can’t stress enough how hard the staff work at making the clients feel comfortable and always ensure that they have the tools they need to get through the day/make the new connections needed to continue the path of recovery. Maria is an absolutely amazing coordinator who comes in every day with a huge smile on her face, ready to help anyone she can at any moment of the day, she truly was a blessing for me during my time there. Kamryn is an extremely emotionally intelligent person who takes her position very seriously, she introduced me to a 12 step program that I still work every single day since leaving CCFA, I will say that is what is keeping sober/happy and what will continue to do so for the rest of my life. Alex, Trevor, Megan, Ethan and Vivian are all amazing counsellors who are dedicated to their positions, always putting hard work into their clinical and therapeutic programs, you can really see the care and love they have for their clients. My one on one counsellor Steve was incredible, he made monumental progress with me during my sessions and I was able to finally address things that I didn’t even realize were the root of many of my problems, I will always cherish the conversations and work we did. Kat worked the psychotherapy program and she did an absolutely amazing job, always listening intently and providing insight into many issues that I never would have been able to see from that perspective otherwise, she is amazing in her field. All of the nurses were incredible as well including Annette, she took care of all of us from installing a crucial vitamin regiment to answering any questions asked and also any medical issues that arose, they were always sorted out and handled with care quickly. The housekeeping staff were amazing as well, always keeping everything clean and orderly at all times so we felt at home and safe. Roger was incredible as well, he handled any maintenance issues with ease, and was always a friendly face to see. I also have to talk about the food, it was incredible. I’m a chef by trade so I was worried coming in that I wouldn’t be satisfied with the culinary aspect but I was quickly proved wrong by Chef Kyle and Chef Reds amazing creations. They took so much care and put so much love into their food you could see it (and smell) the moment you walked into the dining room. Everything tasted incredible and the options were plentiful, always catering to anyone who had diet or allergy restrictions, I was beyond impressed. If you are struggling with addiction or alcohol abuse, I urge you to please take the step you need to get help, there is a much better life waiting for you. CCFA will open that door for you and make it a comfortable transition in the meanwhile, they will not only ensure you have a positive experience while there, but they will introduce and give the tools that you need to continue your recovery after you leave. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to every single person who works there and God Bless every one of you! ❤️😊

My experience at CCFA was truly amazing! The staff are all very friendly and flexible with accommodations. The clinical staff are very professional and the counselors can truly relate and offer individualized care based on one’s needs. The atmosphere in the house was also very welcoming to newcomers. The programming is very thorough and there’s other options if 12 steps aren’t your preferred recovery path. I’ve built some good connections and was set up for success once leaving. You definitely get a lot out of the program if you put the work in.The food is outstanding as well. Buffet style every meal and the quality is top notch. My only complaint is the lack of resources available if staff are to take time off. The on-site Psychotherapist needed time off and the center was very ill prepared to adapt to the situation.

Addiction Rehab Toronto changed my life for the better! I was hopeless, lost and had no confidence when I arrived there. I walked out of there feeling like my true self. They gave me the tools I need to live a peaceful life. Their staff are fantastic, they care about your recovery, and truly want you to succeed. Addiction Rehab Toronto hands down changed my life. From start to finish their staff guided me on a journey from self discovery through to beginning the process of recovery. From the moment I dialled their number, Wade guided me through the process of being here by walking me through every step of the program and reassuring me that this would be a safe place for me to find myself and begin to grow. I still had doubts, I was in the worst place I’ve ever been mentally, emotionally, and physically. Wade invited me to come visit the centre the next day. Taking me on a tour, he helped settle any nerves I had. Once I had committed to coming to the centre, and I began stressing out about one thing or the other I would call Wade and he would reassure me things would be okay and happily answer any of my questions.Once I arrived here I was paired with Valentino as my primary counsellor. Through our 1 on 1 sessions, daily classes, connecting with peers, and my sessions with my psychotherapist I went through a tremendous amount of self discovery, through this discovery I was able to process and grow. I owe Valentino and every member of staff here at Addiction Rehab Toronto my life. I leave here with an entirely new perspective on my life, my past, my future, and most importantly myself. If you or a loved one needs help, ART is a safe place for them to grow in a nurturing environment.

I was hopeless, confused and broken after years of trying to combat my alcoholism on my own and just not being able to stay sober even for couple of days I was done destroying my life and everyone around me. But I didn’t know the solution and what to do, I was clueless of the severity of my condition. When enough was enough I made a decision to get help and change my life that’s were ART came in to the picture, going into ART I was lonely, nervous, depressed and anxious. These feelings left me soon after I entered the front door with greetings from Nursing staff and counsellors, I felt welcomed and comforted, I was moved to a comfortable detox room equipped with TV and fridge (full of Gatorade and Protein shakes) right away where for next few days food was delivered and Nurses checked on me every couple of hours which helped the whole process of detoxing immensely. I am so thankful to the Nursing staff.Right after the detox with a clear mind I was able to walk around and see how I was surrounded by amazing people like me who I can relate to and bounded with right away (a sense of belonging finally I am part of something). My Primary counselor Valentino met with me and I felt an instant connection, Valentino understood my unique story, addiction and vulnerabilities and formed a plan which would make sure that during my entire stay I was getting the help I needed, and the questions I went in to rehab with were answered. Valentino I cannot thank you enough for helping me put the right foot forward in this life long journey, Hope, Faith and courage is what you gave me.Every member of the staff is so unique in there own way, and together they form an incredible team.I also thank Chef’s at the Kitchen (Leo & Ed) for amazing meals (I can go back just to eat lol!) and the cookies.Thank you ART for helping me get closer to who I really am and beginning this beautiful journey.

I would like to start off by saying addiction rehab Toronto not only saved me, but also gave me a new and beautiful life.My journey began when I had a conversation with the owner who went above and beyond to get me there and afford me this life changing opportunity. For that I am forever grateful. Now to my stay at ART. Initially my stay was supposed to be 2 weeks, but I ended up graduating from the 47 day program. Having Mel as my primary Counsellor helped me uncover some truths about myself I wasn’t even aware of.From the moment I walked in, I immediately felt this sense of security and could tell right away Addiction Rehab Toronto is a family. From the counsellors, therapists, nurses, cleaners and cooks, they were truly one of a kind and made this experience better then any facility I had ever been to.The care we received on a daily basis was second to none and I was made to feel safe and loved which allowed my healing process to begin. I truly believe it’s the staff that make a treatment centre great and it was Issy, Donovan, Lee and Val whose guidance and support had a profound impact on me.Lastly, with the support and direction of a Counsellor Alison and an office manager Kelly, I was encouraged to consider the next step of sober living. The staff here are exceptional. They are highly supportive and truly care for the clients. My primary Counsellor Jonathan has been such a blessing in my life and continues to push me, believe in me, and help me grow and strengthen my recovery. I have a new beautiful life that ART has given me.I have finally found a place like home with my second family of like minded, caring and supportive people.

ART separated me from my drug of choice, one that had taken full control of me, detoxed my brain, re acquainted me with the twelve steps which connected me to a power greater than myself, gave me new tools like smart recovery, introduced me to things like counselling and psychotherapy, educated me on co-dependency, reestablished values, showed me how to set, communicate and enforce boundaries and how to properly meditate, reset me on things lost in addiction like showering, making my bed, eating right, exercising and being accountable and on time and helped facilitate friendships and bonds that will last a lifetime. There was also time for fun things like road hockey, mindful walks, pool, ping pong, karaoke, etc.Simply put, ART saved my life!I continue to take advantage of the lifetime aftercare program. I still meet with my primary counsellor and psychotherapist weekly to strengthen my recovery and give me the necessary tools to deal with everyday life. I also attend as many aftercare meetings as I can. It allows me to keep in touch with the peers I met while in rehab and gives me the opportunity to meet other ART alumni. The weekly alumni speaker meeting is a highlight of my week and help me maintain my sobriety. We are a fellowship within a fellowship.I spent Father’s day and my birthday in Addiction Rehab Toronto. It was probably the best birthday of my life and the 30 days spent there was without question 30 of the most special days of my life.Glenn S., Newcastle, Ontario
