Walter A. “Slim” Thorpe Recovery Centre is a center that has many things to offer. First, it has a small space that serves as a detoxification center. It can hold up to six people and is a non-medical program. There is also a part that is an outpatient program. There are many people who need either intervention or counselling and this part of the center can offer that. Then there is the residential drug rehabilitation which can take in 28 people at the same time. This program lasts 28 days and offers a wide range of activities which have as a goal the rehabilitation of the addict, both mentally and physically. In order to partake in this rehab treatment, the addict has to have been clean and/or sober for at least a week. They have a few government funded beds with a fee of 1165$ for room and board.
