The clinical team at Metamorphosis centre for change understands that breaking addiction is not just about quitting substances or harmful behavior. Clients stay in a 20,000 sq ft, 2-story wheelchair accessible building, each room with its own thermostat, ensuite three-piece bathroom, and spacious living quarters. Situated in the stunning town of Wasaga Beach, the center provides a serene and tranquil environment for recovery. Metamorphosis is the best way to describe this place because You WILL come out of here as a changed individual.
From the cooking staff, the counsellors, the nurses, owners, students, peers and everything in between – The people and this center will leave you with the great strength to face sobriety.
I went into this rehab as a broken soul… no hope left to live. I stayed for the 30 days and everyday was a growing experience. Thru my incredible main counsellors Jenn and Jeff <3 I was able to overcome my demons, trauma and have hope for change.
The activities, classes, the incredible food, the mindfulness, the motivation, the new way of life you learn to live with and be happy with is priceless.
This rehab center is a life long sober friend, you gain access to lifelong classes, new friends and check-ins from your counsellors after you leave.
The access to a psychotherapist, psychiatrist, riki, massage, tai chi, yoga, weight room, counseling, art therapy, music therapy, AA, SMART recovery, and so much more. All of this is freeing to learn who you are and gives you the tools for success.

My addiction got so bad to the point I didn’t think I could get help. 2 weeks before metamorphosis I was literally on my knees crying because I couldn’t get sober and I was praying to someone or something to help me, because I knew I couldn’t do it on my own.
One night I got assaulted outside of a bar and was placed on life support for 3 days. After waking up I was placed in the trauma unit. After spending 7 days in the trauma unit I went straight to Metamorphosis because I knew I had to change my life around.
When I showed up there I was greeted by Vicky and Veronica. I’ve never been so warmly greeted and I could see that they actually cared, I felt it. I didn’t know how they could help me but I felt they could.
When I first sat down with my councillor there was an instant connection. I never thought a Dalas Cowboys fan could be so nice, her name is Nicole and she really helped change my life. I remember my first homework she gave me was called a benefit and cost list, We both came to the conclusion that cocaine had cons that out weighed the benefits of using the substance.
Ricks morning lessons really started to hit hard when he spoke of expectations of others, judgments of others, hypocrisy of others, family and relationships, speak your mind, resentments, forgiveness. In all of his lessons he taught and still continue to teach self love, self worthiness, self acceptance and it helps build your self esteem. His teachings also talks about how we can have a clear head, clear heart and a clear gut. He was the first person that has ever told me addiction isn’t a disease, addiction is a choice.
As two weeks progressed I already started to feel my life was changing. With that change, I started to learn about radical acceptance. Radical acceptance is a tools that uses dialectical behaviour therapy, This was a huge piece of a puzzle of how I was able to get my life together, and it made me come to a self realization I was now able to get everything under control!
After leaving Metamorphosis, I have become close with a lot of counsellors; because I see them as mentors. Jennifer and I have developed a bond over reading, dialectal behavioural therapy and cognitive behavioural therapy, she is someone who I look up to and have a huge amount of respect for.
The nursing staff are great! Chris, and Melissa really are encouraging and have the interest of all the clients at heart.
Karrie at the front desk is very supportive and goes above and beyond in making sure every client enjoys their stay.
Troy was always helpful in calming me down and providing excellent suggestions to approach situations and helped me get in a sober living facility called The Recovery Place in Toronto.
Frank and Chris run metamorphosis ethically they both really care for all clients and they run their business all for the right reasons!

The food there is great – the chefs are wonderful and caring! You won’t starve while you’re there. The days are generally busy but you’ll find some downtime thrown in too which is really good in terms of setting you up for success when you leave. There are plenty of activities to do while you’re there from yoga – taichi – gym, arts, etc. They do really tailor the treatment to your needs, something I truly appreciated! Finally, the amount of 1 on 1 support you get is amazing – counsellors, therapists, doctors and psychiatrists! The nurses are also wonderful and very attentive to your needs.
I could keep going but I’ll just end by saying that my only regret was not going sooner (though I think I went just when I needed to).

Our family had a loved one stay at Metamorphosis, and while the experience presented some challenges, we appreciated the compassion shown by the main counsellors. They were genuinely caring and tried their best to offer support during a difficult time.
The facility uses virtual appointments for the addiction doctor and psychiatrist, which may work for some but didn’t quite meet the needs of our loved one, who was dealing with anxiety, depression, and substance dependence. The on-site medical presence is limited to a nurse, and in our case, we felt more specialized, hands-on care would have been beneficial — particularly during withdrawal and medication transitions.
We were surprised that there was no formal contract provided to our family to review or sign for the 30-day stay, and we found the program costs to be quite high compared to the level of medical involvement. Unfortunately, our loved one’s condition did not improve as hoped.
That said, we believe Metamorphosis may be a good fit for individuals with less complex needs, and we’re thankful for the kindness and empathy shown by the counseling team throughout the process.
